In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Pankey family. Virginia's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall their be anymore pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Virginia Pankey.

Virginia Lee Pankey was born September 3, 1938 to the late William and Minnie Flurry in Gans, Oklahoma. She was also preceded on death by her husband, J. D. Pankey; four sisters, Susie Willis, Evelyn Woodis, Irene McGee, Billie Joe Robinson, and Ora Bell Taylor; and five brothers, B. William, John Henry, Leroy, Wallace, and Jessie Flurry.

Virginia accepted Christ at an early age in life and continued on until she became the mother of the New Morning Star Missionary Baptist. She was once the President of the Woman’s Missionary Society and the Kitchen Committee. She worked hard in support of her church and loved God dearly.

Virginia worked hard as a single mother supporting her family. She worked at OK Foods and then later she worked and retired after 38 years of service at Whirlpool.

Virginia was a well-respected woman of God in our community and loved her family dearly. She was a “tell-it-like-it-is” lady to everybody, but was also was a kind-hearted person. She was very supportive of her children and always wanted them to advance in life. She loved life and the laughter of it.

Virginia leaves to cherish her loving memory, son, Jimmy Lee Flurry of Fort Smith, AR; daughter, Latasha Pankey of Fort Smith, AR; two grandchildren, Te’vion and Rihanna Perry both of Fort Smith, AR; two brother-in-law’s, Nathan Pankey, and Anthony Sauls both of Fort Smith, AR; one sister-in-law, Essie Sauls of Fort Smith, AR, and a host of niece, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, February 22, 2019 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Rowell-Parish Mortuary.

Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Moffett Elementary School Horton/Owens Complex 701 Belt Street in Moffett, OK 74946.

Committal service and final resting place will be held at the Center Point Cemetery in Redland, OK.
