Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Rev. Nathaniel Brown affectionately know as "Nat" passed away on September 7, 2020 at CHI St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born on September 8, 1932 to the blessed union of George and Flora Brown in Damascus, Arkansas. He was the second of three children. His parents; two brothers, Andrew Brown and Bronner Brown; one sister in law, Helen Brown and one daughter, Juanita Brown-Brewer all preceded him in death. Nathan accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized and united with Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Damascus, Arkansas. God called him into the gospel ministry on the 17th day of September 1995 at Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Twin Groves, Arkansas. He was known as Rev. Nathaniel Brown, man of God.
In 1966 Nathan Brown opened Damascus, Arkansas' first gas station and grocery store named Zion Grove Grocery. He was a school bus driver for the Guy Perkins School District. He also served as a school board member in the Guy Perkins School district for many years. In 1996, Brown's Trash Route was established. Nathan employed ten or more employees. He was a lifetime farmer in Damascus and was known for raising pigs at Brown's Farm, established from 1950 to present. He also was a city council member of Twin Groves, Arkansas. He loved baseball, traveling and most of all, talking with friends and family.
Nathan leaves to cherish his loving memory, his wife of 63 years, Vanteen Morris-Brown; five daughters, Yvetta (Anthony) Hood of Sherwood, Arkansas, Vanessa Mosley, Tina Brown, and Hilda Brown all of Twin Groves, Arkansas, Kathy Brown of Little Rock, Arkansas; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister in law, Glora Brown of New Orleans, Louisiana and a host of relatives, extended family and friends that he loved dearly.
Walk through visitation will be held Friday, September 11, 2020 from 12:00pm to 6:00pm at Veasley Funeral Home.
Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, September 12, 2020, 12:00pm at Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 1514 US-65, Twin Groves, Arkansas 72039.
Committal service and final resting place will be held at Twin Groves Cemetery, Twin Groves, Arkansas.
