Bobby’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mr. Bobby Payne.

Bobby Earl Payne, Sr. was born November 19, 1953 in Morrilton, Arkansas, the son of the late Pearline Payne and Thomas Toney, Sr. He departed this life on May 4, 2022. Bobby professed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined the Greater Union Hill Baptist Church in Morrilton, Arkansas. Bobby graduated from Morrilton High School in 1972. He was a loving, and devoted husband, father, and brother. He played basketball in high school until a knee injury. He worked for Coca-Cola Bottling Company. He attended Truck Driving School for JB Hunt. He worked as a paper delivery driver for the Arkansas Democrat for 30 years. He worked for IC Bus in Conway, Arkansas for 38 years. He obtained his business license and opened Payne 1 Shade Tree Mechanic Service in Conway, Arkansas until his illness in 2013.
Bobby is preceded in death by his brother, Donnie Payne, Sr.; daughter, Liza Renee Payne; son, Bobby Payne, Jr.; and step-daughter, Lesley Maltbia. Bobby leaves to cherish his loving memories, his loving wife, Ethel M. Payne of Conway, Arkansas; one son, Clifton Payne of Conway, Arkansas; one daughter, Chasitiy Griffin of Little Rock, Arkansas; three step-daughters, Karlis (James) Jordon of Memphis, Tennessee, Katrina Beatty of Maumelle, Arkansas, Regina Maltbia of Conway, Arkansas; two brothers, Russell Toney, Jr. of Parsons, Tennessee, Kasey Payne of Morrilton, Arkansas; one sister, Diana (Austin) Coates of Conway, Arkansas; eighteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Walk through visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, May 13, 2022 from 12:00pm to 5:00pm at Veasley Funeral Home.
Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, May 14, 2022, 11:00am at Greater Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 58 Sandtown Rd., Morrilton, Arkansas 72110.
