In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Ester Family. Brady's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Brady Ester, Sr.

Brady James Ester, Sr. affectionately called “Big Brady” by family and friends was born on October 1, 1947, in Wooster, Arkansas to his parents, McKinley Ester, Jr. and Freddie B. Woodard Ester. He was raised surrounded by his brothers, Robert, Jerry, and his sisters, Brenda, Evon, and Carolyn. As a child, he was obedient and listened to the instructions of his parents. Growing up in the country, he enjoyed the time spent with his uncles.

Brady graduated from Anna Strong High School, located in Marianna, Arkansas. On May 31, 1966, Brady enlisted in the United States Army. While serving his country, he earned a National Defense Service Medal; a Vietnam Service Medal w/1 Bronze Service Star; a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; and a Expert Rifle Ribbon. He served with honor and distinction and was honorably discharged at the rank of Staff Sergeant (E6).

In 1972, Brady wed Deloris Marie Flakes-Ester in Conway, Arkansas. To this union, Brady, Jr. was born. He later met, Gloria Marshall and to this union, Chevonne was born. He later met Terrie Lewis and to this union Terren and Airiel were born. He was a loving father, who took great pride in the care and nurture of his family. Brady was blessed with ten grandchildren, Denaya, Toddera, Maddie, Armani, Makhi, Aliah, Nevaeh, Elijah, Ezekiel, and Elias; and four great-grandchildren, who were an additional source of joy and pride in his life.

By profession, Brady was employed by the United States Postal Service as a Supervisor and also American Airlines as a Tour Superintendent. He was hard working, dedicated, and performed all his assigned duties with a spirit of excellence.

A man of faith and belief in the Lord, Brady was a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, located in Marianna, Arkansas. He believed in the power of prayer and having a relationship with the Lord. Brady was a fun-loving man, who enjoyed life and those he encircled. In his free time, he enjoyed traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends. His generosity and love will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind of wonderful man, To know “Big Brady” was to love him.

Brady James Ester, Sr. departed this life on September 17, 2023 in Aurora, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss include, two sons, Brady J. Ester, Jr. (Melanie Jackson) of Little Rock, Arkansas, Terren M. Ester; two daughters, Chevonne R. Marshall and Airiel C. Ester both of Denver, Colorado; one brother, Jerry Ester of Little Rock, Arkansas; three sisters, Evon Robinson, Brenda Lane both of Marianna, Arkansas, Carolyn (Cecil) Coleman of West Memphis, Arkansas; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.


Walk through visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at Veasley Funeral Home.


Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, September 29, 2023 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 364 S. Popular St., Marianna, Arkansas 72360.


Public viewing for family and friends will be held Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 9:00am to 11:00am at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 364 S. popular St., Marianna, Arkansas 72360.


Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, September 30, 2023, 11:00am at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 364 S. popular St., Marianna, Arkansas 72360.


Committal service and final resting place will be held at Paradise #2 Church Cemetery, 2618 Lee Rd., Lexa, Arkansas 72355.


Family will receive friends for a repast at the Anna Strong Learning Academy Cafeteria, 214 S. Alabama St., Marianna, Arkansas 72360.
