In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Williams family. Cora’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Ms. Cora Lee Williams.

Cora Lee (Jones) Williams was one of the eight children given from God on Sunday, December 23, 1945 as a blessing to the late Cal and Equiller (Brown) Jones in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was called to take her eternal heavenly rest on November 19, 2021 also from Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by a son: Benny Jones; five brothers: Otha Tatum, Virdie, Lawrence, Bobby, and Herbert Jones.
Cora received her elementary education from Washington Grade School in Moffett, Oklahoma and Howard Elementary School in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She attended Lincoln High School, also in Fort Smith. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal at a very early age and united with New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. E. M. Smith, Sr. She remained a faithful member until she was called home to take her rest.
Cora united in holy matrimony with Eugene Williams in 1964 and this union was blessed with four children. She began her employment working several years at O. K. Foods Inc., Ramada Inn and Sparks Regional Medical Center (Baptist Health-Fort Smith), all located in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Cora was very active in the Women’s Missionary Society, lifting her voice in praise with the Choir and being a doorkeeper (Usher) in the House of the Lord. She cared for several other children who she welcomed into her home, and she loved all of them dearly. She will be greatly missed by all who adored and appreciated her throughout her life.
Cora will be forever cherished by her loving husband: Eugene Williams of Fort Smith, Arkansas; her children: Angela (Delvicco) Broadnax of Arlington, Texas; Michael Williams of Fort Smith, Arkansas, James (Frances) Williams of Van Buren, Arkansas, Clara Jeffries, Jackie Armington and Carl Armington all three of Fort Smith, Arkansas; a sister: Eva Mae Williams of Detroit, Michigan; two brothers: Rev. James (Earnestine) Jones of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Charles Ray Jones of San Diego, California; twenty-nine grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a special daughter: Shelia (Willie) Galvez of Arlington, Texas; a special son: Kelvin Clark Fort Smith, Arkansas and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, several cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, November 26, 2021 from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Rowell-Parish Mortuary 611 North 9th Street Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.
Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Shady Grove Baptist Church 111976 South 4780 Road 74954.
Committal service and final resting place will be at the Shady Grove Cemetery Roland, Oklahoma.
