In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Pierce family. Earnestine’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mother Earnestine Pierce.

Mother Earnestine Pierce was born on April 9, 1928 to Grover C. Coleman and Amanda Brooks-Coleman in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She was the eldest of three children. She professed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined Bethel AME Church in Brookhaven, Mississippi.


Earnestine married Julius Pierce in 1952 and they resided in Cleveland, Ohio. They moved to Conway, Arkansas in 1958 and became members of the Greater Pleasant Branch Baptist Church where she served in the choir for over 44 years, served on the Mother's Board, served as Sunday School treasurer, and tried to help wherever she was needed.


Earnestine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a great cook and was always cooking cakes, pies, etc. for others. She loved sending plates of food to friends, family, and church family. She worked for over 25 years at Conway Human Development Center and after retiring, began babysitting for generations of grand and great-grandchildren, as

well as nieces, nephews, and other children from her church and neighborhood.

Earnestine was preceded in death by her parents, Grover C. and Amanda Coleman; husband, Julius V. Pierce; three grandsons, Shannon Gatewood, Kendall Kellybrew, and Matthew Fuller.


Earnestine leaves to cherish her memory, six daughters, Diane Gatewood of Conway, Arkansas, Deborah Ricks of Chicago, Illinois, Renee (Phillip) Clemons of Denver, Colorado, Marion Evans of Clinton, Mississippi, Regina (Willie) Cutts of Maumelle, Arkansas; step-daughter, Lena (Tom) Odum of Atlanta, Georgia; two sisters, Johny Mae Wilson of Detroit, Michigan, Margaret Wilcher of Indianapolis, Indiana; 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends


Walk through visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, March 26, 2021 from 12:00pm to 6:00pm at Veasley Funeral Home.


Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, March 27, 2021, 11:00am on the campus parking lot of True Holiness Saints Center, 198 Hwy 286 East, Conway, Arkansas 72032.


Committal service and final resting place will be held at Robinson Cemetery, 1198 Lincoln St., Conway, Arkansas 72032.
