In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Perry family. Inola’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mother Inola Perry.

Inola Perry was a gift from God on Tuesday, February 23, 1932 to the late Gene and Louise (Dixon) Perry in Alma, Arkansas. She was also called by God to take her eternal rest on Sunday, April 17, 2022 from Van Buren, Arkansas. She was also preceded in death by seven siblings: Okie Mae Mahone, Iguster Perry, Clyde Perry, O. C. Perry, Leroy Perry, Joe Daniel Perry and Billy Gene Perry.


Inola was a lifetime member of Greater Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her health began to fail her. She held numerous offices in the church: the Bereavement Committee, Offering for Others, Pianist, and Kitchen Committee. She was responsible for ordering flowers for funerals and anniversaries; she was also the organizer for all church trips. Lastly, she became a Mother of the church and was also active in the Antioch District.


Inola’s formal education was at Douglas Elementary School in Van Buren, Arkansas and she graduated from Lincoln High School in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She attended Arkansas Baptist College for two years. She worked for Arkansas Agriculture Extension office and Riverside Furniture Company where she retired after 21 years of service.


Inola will be forever remembered and cherished by her two sons: Jerry Allen Perry of Arlington, Texas and Phil Perry, Sr. of Van Buren, Arkansas; her five daughters: Shirley Sue Parker (Richard) of Little Rock, Arkansas; Dianne Johnson and Janette Johnson both of Van Buren, Arkansas; Stephanie Elaine Henry of Lewisville, Texas and Kimberly Renee McKinley (Frank) of Mansfield, Texas, fourteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, nine great great-grandchildren; a sister: Susie Snell of Tulsa, Oklahoma and a host of relatives and friends.


Visitation will be Tuesday, April 26, 2022 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Rowell-Parish Mortuary 611 North 9th Street Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.


Celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Greater Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church 35 South 22nd Street Van Buren, Arkansas 72956.


Committal service and final resting place will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Van Buren, Arkansas.
