Margaret’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Ms. Margaret Cockrell.

Margaret Marie "Scooter" Cockrell was born September 10, 1957 in Morrilton, Arkansas to Blomer Toney-Jones and the late Cardell Davis. Margaret departed this earthly life on March 14, 2021. She attended University High School in St. Louis, Missouri. She professed a hope in Christ at an early age at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in St. Louis. She later joined New Generation Church in Conway, Arkansas where she served faithfully until being called home.
Margaret was a strong and loving woman. She helped many and was a pillar in her community. She was known for her outspoken nature and being a truth-teller. She had many friends that she held dear to her heart and talked to everyday. Most of all, she loved her family. She was an adored mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Margaret was preceded by her husband, Eugene Cockrell Jr., father Cardell Davis, brother Randy Toney, grandmother Alice Toney and grandfather Luther Toney.
Margaret leaves to cherish her love and memory, son, Cartez Antoine Cockrell of Plumerville, Arkansas; mother, Blomer Toney – Jones of Plumerville, Arkansas; sister, Pamela Toney of Plumerville, Arkansas; nephew, who she called her son, Corey Terez Toney of Plumerville, Arkansas; three granddaughters, Ceiaira Cockrell of Conway, Arkansas, Mauriana Cockrell of Conway, Arkansas, and Trinity Cockrell of Springfield, Arkansas; a great granddaughter, Naima Neal of Conway, Arkansas; two great nieces, Kiandra Toney and Shakira Toney of Conway, Arkansas; a great nephew, Jacorey Toney of Conway, Arkansas; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Family and friends visitation will be held Friday, March 19, 2021 from 12:00pm to 6:00pm at Veasley Funeral Home.
Graveside celebration of life, committal service, and final resting place will be held Saturday, March 20, 2021, 2:00pm at Mt. Olive Cemetery, 728 Mt. Olive Rd., Plumerville, Arkansas 72127.
