Matthew's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Matthew Shaquille Rentie-Baker was born on May 10, 1993, in San Antionio, Texas to Cetrevia Jordan and Shawn Baker. Matthew Shaquille passed away on October 26, 2024, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He graduated from Northside High School and went on to get his Culinary Degree in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Matthew worked at Olive Garden Restaurant in Fort Smith, Arkansas and later moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas where he worked at Walmart, and was later employed at Washington Regional Hospital Cafeteria, as a cook, until his passing. He loved to play his video games when he wasn’t working and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal Grandmother: Dorothy Ann Jordan and maternal Grandfather: William Gordan, Jr.
Matthew leaves to cherish his memories; Mother: Cetrevia Jordan. Father: Shawn Baker; paternal Grandmother: Stephania Baker, adopted Mom: Charisse Johnson. Nine (9) brothers: Dajion Jordan, Demarcus Johnson, Devante and Demetric Johnson, Jamario Baker, Corderro Mims, Guy Houston, Jakeil Smith and Shawn George. Five (5) sisters: Cherelle Jordan, Diamond Romero, Mikiaya Williams, Mikaisia Williams and Mariya Johnson.
Along with a host of other relatives and friends, who will forever miss him.
Walk through viewing for family and friends will be held Friday, November 22, 2024, from 9:00am to 6:00pm. The immediate family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 6:00pm at Rowell-Parish Chapel 611 North 9th St., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.
Celebration of life service will be held Saturday November 23, 2024; 11:00am Ninth Street Missionary Baptist Church 1023 North 9th St., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72904.
