In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Moore family. Verlon’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mrs. Verlon Moore.

Verlon Mae Brown Moore was born November 3, 1932, to the late Henry Brown, Sr, and Lee Etta Sanders. Stepfather, Antoine Sanders. She later married Ervin Moore, Jr who preceded her in death and to this union seven children were born.
She was a proud graduate of Dunbar High School which she often talked about and attended Arkansas Baptist College. She later became a Head Start Instructor working for over fifty plus years until retirement at the age of 80 years old.
Verlon was a member of First Baptist Church Roland, Arkansas where she served as the church Treasurer and on the Mothers Board until her health failed. Her loving heart, funny character and generous spirit was uplifting to her family and friends. She loved her children and grandchildren and supported them all by attending their events whether basketball, graduation, or wedding as the “cheerleader” for all. Verlon never met a stranger and often adopted many as one of her children. Her encouraging words, witty response and funny sense of humor was an inspiration to everyone. Verlon had a love for cooking and would cook everyone their FAVORITE meal regardless to what it was or how often they wanted it.
Verlon is preceded in death by her brother, Clarence Brown; sister, Doris Daniels; adopted daughter, Gloria Wright; two daughters, Danita Twigg, and Diana Robinson.
Verlon leaves to cherish her memory, two siblings: Henry Brown Jr. of Florida, and sister: Bernestine Washington of Little Rock, Arkansas; children: Donald Brown, Deborah Piggee, Dennis (Luveta) Moore, Delma Moore, Dwayne (Tyisha) Moore, Dedra (John) May; son-in-law: Broderick Robinson; special daughter/caregiver: Sametta Russ; thirty-one grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and relatives.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 10:00am to 11:00am at St. Luke Baptist Church.
Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023, 11:00am at St. Luke Baptist Church, 8205 AR-161, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72117.
Committal service and final resting place will be held at Clay Baylor Memorial Gardens, Roland, Arkansas.
