In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Whitfield family. Myreon’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mr. Myreon Whitfield.

Myreon Lamar Whitfield “Pooh” was a beautiful blessing given to Glynis Parks and Keith Whitfield on Wednesday, October 18, 1989 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was called to take his eternal rest along with his best friend/cousin: Tyrone Lamar Parks, Jr. on Sunday, November 7, 2021 also from Fort Smith. He was also preceded by his parental grandfather: Ozzie Whitfield, Sr., and his maternal grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Lemuel and Cleo Parks, Sr.
Myreon spent his life in the Fort Smith River Valley. He was educated in the Fort Smith School System: Trusty Elementary, Darby Junior High and Northside High. He graduated from Northside with the Class of 2006.
Myreon was a funny guy whose spirit would light up the atmosphere everywhere he walked in his life. He was like a rose bush, but the kind that did not need to be watered. His laugh, jokes, and cooking (shrimp and turkey legs) will be some of the things we will remember about him. He will be significantly missed by all who adored and appreciated him throughout his life.
Myreon will be cherished and remembered by his two beautiful daughters: Journee Louise Shaw and Myreanna Louise Whitfield; his mother: Glynis Parks; his father: Keith Whitfield; his sister: Keesha Louise (Cleavon) Kursh; his brother: Markell Barnard Whitfield; his parental grandmother: Charlene Whitfield all of Fort Smith, Arkansas and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, other family members and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, November 19, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Rowell-Parish Mortuary 611 North 9th Street Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.
Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 1 p.m. at New Covenant International Christian Center 4400 North N Street Fort Smith, Arkansas 72904.
Committal service and final resting place will be at the Oak Cemetery Fort Smith, Arkansas.
