Ms. Rosetta McFerren Cook was a free spirit who enjoyed life fully . She loved spending time with her family. That time was always filled with laughter and joy. Like the tulips she loved to plant, she was striking, vibrant - a delightful and unforgettable sight. And much like that tulip she has left us far too soon.
Rosetta McFerren Cook was born on February 24, 1957 to TJ and Reola McFerren in Kansas City, Missouri.
For many years, she worked as a secretary for St. Edward's and Carl Albert's Upward Bound program. Prior to that she worked for Emerson in Independence, Kansas. She created her own clothing line, Gargackee in 1997.
Rosetta was a talented woman that could accomplish anything she put her mind to, not only that she could brighten even a stranger's day with her gentle and welcoming energy. She smiled with her eyes and she had a light that will not be soon forgotten. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, flower gardening, darts, and reading.
She was a caregiver to her grandchildren and loved them dearly. A mother of two, she loved and doted on her children: Leroy Haskins III and Rena Tripp.
She is survived by her husband: Arnold Cook; son: Leroy (Storme) Haskins III of Spiro, Oklahoma; grandsons: Deandre Tripp, Jayce Clark, L. D. Haskins and granddaughter: Saylor Clark; siblings: Tilton McFerren of Wichita, Kansas, Charles McFerren of Spiro, Oklahoma, Larry (Kelley) McFerren of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Rozena (Danny) Dooley of Springdale, Arkansas and Rachel Robbalaa of Spiro, Oklahoma; a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
