Shirley’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Ms. Shirley Ann Williams.

Shirley Ann (Gilbert) Williams was the first born of five children given as a gift from God on Tuesday, February 9, 1954 to the late Albert and Rose Mary (Clark) Gilbert, Sr. in Kansas City, Missouri. She was also called by God to take her eternal rest on Friday, December 23, 2022 from Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was also preceded in death by one of her brothers: Glenn R. Gilbert and a nephew: Michael Thomas.
Shirley was baptized at an early age at Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri. She was educated in the Public School System in Kansas City and graduated from Manual High School Class of 1971. She was a very hard worker in life and worked several different jobs while in Kansas City.
Shirley moved to Fort Smith with her mother and sister. In Fort Smith, she worked as a Pre-K Teacher for 15 ½ years and then she went into the Healthcare Industry in Home Health and became a caregiver.
Shirley will be forever cherished and remembered by two of her brothers: Albert “Sonny” Gilbert, Jr. and Greg Gilbert both of Fort Smith; a sister: Sheila Gilbert of Fort Smith; three nieces: LaNique Gilbert, Denise Gilbert, and Nicole Thomas; two nephews: Darin (Rika) Thomas and Myron Pendleton and a host of great nieces and nephews, other family members and many good friends.
Memorial Service will be Saturday, December 31, 2022 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Rowell-Parish Mortuary 611 North 9th Street Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.
