Thomas loved life and had a big heart; he was always willing to help anyone he could.   He loved mastering the chess board and found great pleasure rising to the challenges and complexities of the game between his opponents. He also loved, loved, loved, the color red and building things with his hands.  Thomas was 66 years young and a native of Oklahoma.  He later moved to Fort Smith AR, where he met his lovely wife Teresa Edwards Harris, and they were married.  One of his most favorite, endearing sayings was, “Who loves YOU is me!!”  He was also notoriously and lovingly known as “Buffalo;” and when excited, expressing himself by stating with finesse “Babe-Be” and “I’m Too Threw” as only he could do!!

On his last weekend home, we had a Praise Party tele-conference celebration for him with various family members from several states.  The following day on Sunday (October 13, 2024) his family in Fort Smith surrounded him with love and gave him an early surprise birthday party celebration (his birthday was actually, October 31, 2024). The next day, Thomas, thankful to be at home, also wrote a love letter to his family, feeling much love in his heart; then early that evening he was called home by The    Father.

Thomas was a member of Evangel Temple in Fort Smith, until he was called home to glory.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Thomas Jefferson Harris, Sr., and Rosie M. Harris; his brother, Ronald Harris; and sister, Hazel Kepney.  He is survived by his wife, Teresa Edwards Harris; his step-son, Terrance (Willina) Scott of CO; step-daughter, Isis Edwards of AR; step-son, Semaj Edwards of AR; Eight (8) step-grandchildren; his brother, Gilbert Duane Harris of MS; sister, Roseland Starks (Renoldo) of LA; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and loved by many friends.

Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday October 22, 2024; 1:00 PM at Rowell-Parish Chapel 611 North 9th St., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.
