In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Miller family. Virgia’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Ms. Virgia Mae Miller.

Virgia Mae Miller was a blessing given from God to the late Matthew and Virginia (Lester) Roby, Sr. on Tuesday, February 16, 1926 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was called by God to take her eternal rest on Tuesday, December 29, 2020. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Cleo Miller, Sr. and a sister, Bertha Lee Neal.


Virgia was educated in the Fort Smith Public schools, and she graduated from Lincoln High School Class of 1944. She was a long-standing member of Mount Zion Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. She was the Secretary of the Sunday School, former leader of the Youth Morning Glory Circle, and former teacher of the Children’s Vacation Bible School.

Virgia was the a humble, quiet, and sweet person. She truly lived her life for God, because she would always help any and everybody she could throughout her life. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and treasured her dearly.


Virgia will be forever cherished and remembered by her daughter, Areletha Springs; her son, Cleo Miller, Jr. both of Fort Smith, Arkansas; her six grandchildren, Anissa (Fred) Fondren of Memphis, Tennessee, James Nash, Jr., Ron Austin both of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Arlette (Bobby) Jones of Choctaw, Oklahoma, Cherie (Joel) Sims of Van Buren, Arkansas, and Billy (Sharon) Springs, Jr. of Killeen, Texas; her eight great-grandchildren, her great-great-grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.


Visitation will be Sunday, January 3, 2021 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Rowell-Parish Mortuary 611 North 9th Street Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901 | 479-782-9200.


Celebration of life service will be held Monday, January 4, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Fort Smith National Cemetery 522 Garland Avenue Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.
